Kristen was born and raised in Alaska. She grew up in a small town called Soldotna where she attended Cook Inlet Academy. During that time she always had her camera with her and was very involved in the high school yearbook.

In 2002, Kristen moved to Anchorage to attend the University of Alaska Anchorage. While there she continued doing photography as a hobby and a passion, photographing anything and anyone that would let me.  It wasn’t until 2007 that she began to think about photography as a profession. In 2008 Kristen took on a job as a photographer at a local studio. Kristen's photographic talents and skills blossomed and grew from working there. Kristen has photographed all age ranges from three days old to ninety-seven years old. She has also photographed many different occasions such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduation, maternity, infant, engagement, and many, many others.

Kristen currently photographs as an independent photographer with Upper One Studios, but plans to start her own photography business and studio by 2010, where she will specialize in infant/maternity and weddings.
