Tom grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and started acting at an early age.  He participated in drama classes, live theater and musicals throughout high school.  Majoring in Acting/Drama throughout college, Tom played various roles in local theater and improve and sketch comedy acts.   During Tom's senior year at North Delta Secondary, he was a member of a sketch comedy group called R.A.T.S (Radical Acting Theater Sports) .

Further pursuing his love of acting, Tom went on to earn a Bachelors degree at Trinity Western University in Acting and Drama. As if this wasn't enough schooling, he decided to continue his education by earning a second Bachelors degree in Education at Simon Fraser University.  Tom continued his love for theater by bringing his teaching talents back into the high school classroom where he instructed students in dramatic and comedic acting. 

Tom has been on both sides of the camera as well as the stage in directing, writing, acting, set designing, and producing.

In mid 2007, Tom met Rick Mallars in Anchorage, Alaska and instantly started collaborating with him to create film and videos for the State of Alaska as well as branching out and writing television and movie scripts for future publication and production.  Together they created Upper One Studios in November of 2008.
